And there it goes.....

Good heavens, January's nearly over!! These days months and years seem to move faster than ever, yet days seem to drag sometimes. You know how it is, days that seem to last forever yet go speeding past like a high speed train? Strange isn't it?

Although its been two weeks since I last made an entry, that was just mainly because there wasn't a lot to say. But the last weekend was good, extremely good. The annual dinner passed uneventfully, thanks to some scheming. Keri and Steve decided to go for a meal with their friends to the very same restaurant, on the very same night, at about the same time as we were there. So that meant that they would come into contact with her ex-husband. It sorta shut him up and stopped him starting anything.

Plus Ali and my sister met for the first time for over 5 years, but you would just have thought, if you'd seen it, that it had been a few weeks and as soon as Keri's ex worked out Ali and I were engaged, well you'd think the world dropped out of his mouth by the way it sagged! HA!!

So it all ended up as a good quiet night. Oh and the one I nearly thumped a couple of weeks ago? She just blanked me out all night which I couldn't care about anyway.

Saturday was a LOOOONG day but we went over to join up with an old friend of mine. Well old as in 15 years worth. This was for us all to go to a big event at Scarborough (an image of which I shall post when I get it off the camera). Ali and my friend Deirdre got on like a house on fire so we all had a really good night, we got back to Hull about 1130 pm.

Sunday, well we had Sunday lunch with Keri and Steve, before they went to the rugby league game. And that went very well too. Its made me happy that the two of them have patched up a few (not all) of their differences and are chatting. Not necessarily as friends but more than just relatives, as they will effectively be. Just a little thing, but its made my year already.

And on that note, gentle reader, I shall say au revoir, until another day.

Hey look at me!!!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Say don't I look good??? This is possibly one of the best pix of me taken for many years which is no small thing. Usually pix of me never seem to come out right. But this one has.

It was taken while we were waiting for the guests to arrive and also before Keri and Steve got there. Instead of just wandering round the chapel, I took an old book to read to pass the time, and while I was reading, mother picked up my camera and took the pic.

Hopefully sometime soon, I'll be able to post a pic of the happy couple for you all to see, I'm sure you all want to!

As an extra, this week, the AstroSoc have been invited to meet the University authorities to discuss further progress of their observatory progress. It's going to be a shame to leave the project just as things were beginning to happen, but think of the publicity when its done! Rest assured, I shall be attempting to make it back for the opening ceremony, whenever that is...!

Quiet week....

Apart from getting so angry I wanted to actually thump someone, which is NOT me, I've had a quiet few days. Don't ask me about it. I don't intend to tell you. Of course if you already know then you don't need to ask...

The next thing will be my sisters wedding blessing on Saturday so I'm off to mum's tomorrow to have a days trial with the cameras she's given me to use, which will be fun. I love messing around with gadgets etc so I'll read the destruction manuals and have a fiddle and a play. Watch out for a pic or two appearing on here from the afternoon, of her, or me and all kinds of other people!

And on that note, TTFN until after the weekend.

Oh my, January...

What is it about the first few weeks of a new year that make you feel a bit down at times? All I know is that even me, Mr Shiny Happy Person, has felt it this week. But then, spring isn't far away and then we're back to summer and all the fun starts afresh, but more so.
Actually this is a quiet week for me, nothing happening until the AstroSoc meeting on Monday next, unless you could the big footy match on Saturday lunchtime. If I afford or acquire a ticket I would go, but as that is unlikely, I'll just settle for following the game on the TV. Easy cop out, I know but I have to watch the pennies and more so this year for sure!

Back Home

First things first, I would like to wish all my of my readers a safe, healthy and prosperous New Year. I hope 2006 is all you wish it to be.

Mmm I'm back to the normal kinda place here in Hull. But its been fun over the last 24 hours.

I would like to post some pix of the NYE party I went to, although somehow I doubt the 'victims' would like their faces plastered in here, but I'll see what comes off the camera tomorrow! And if I can get permission, then watch these spaces...

But it must have been a good party cos I got drunk enough to do karaoke, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, and not just once, must have done it more than once. At least my recollection suggests I did. Plus other songs, I may even have descended into Robbie Williams, god what was I doing???????

This morning, before breakfast, the old 'Hobson's choice' (voice) was rather gruff and fragile, so I must have really given it some last night. At least that was the worst of what I remember, if there was worse then I must have blanked it out. Probably!

Anyhow I would like to thank the Bradley family who always invite myself and society sec Sharon every year to join their extended family party. They must be mad, or else they just know my presence improves a party.... don't laugh!
